What Materix handles in this MVP.
The directory is public and does not require an account. Search, filters, and comparison selections stay in the page session.
Submission requests
When you choose Submit for review, the server stores the fields needed to verify and review the listing: the tool or listing details, source links, review track, and any contact email you provide. The server returns a reference so you can identify the request later.
Analytics and first-party measurement
Materix uses Google Analytics to understand page visits and use of the directory. For visitors in the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics cookies are disabled until you allow them, and we show a consent banner. We use the country supplied by our hosting platform; if the country is unknown or cannot be checked, we also wait for your choice. In all other known countries, analytics is enabled by default without automatically showing the banner.
When analytics is enabled, Google may use analytics cookies and receive directory events such as search, filter use, tool-link clicks, and submission status. The regional default and your choice update Google's analytics storage, advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalization consent signals together. Materix keeps Google signals and ad-personalization signals disabled in the tag configuration and does not load advertising tags. Search text, URL query parameters, email addresses, form content, and submission references are excluded from our event parameters.
You can open Analytics preferences at any time to allow or decline analytics, or withdraw an earlier choice. Your saved choice overrides the regional default, including when your country changes. Declining or withdrawing clears existing analytics cookies and disables all four consent signals. Your choice is saved in your browser; if browser storage is unavailable, it lasts only until the document is closed or reloaded.
When analytics storage is denied, Google still receives page-view signals without analytics cookies. These signals may not appear in Google reports when there is insufficient data for modeling, so reported views and users may not include every visit.
First-party operational events
First-party measurement sends basic counts of approved public page paths before a choice or after refusal, without reading or writing persistent analytics identifiers. Coarse source categories may accompany these signals. With analytics allowed, random site-only identifiers measure sessions, selected directory actions, coarse error categories and sampled browser performance. Cookieless visitor totals depend on modeling and do not identify every unique visitor precisely. Search text, form fields, email addresses, full URLs, IP-derived visitor IDs, and submission references are excluded. Raw behavioral events expire after 30 days; deduplication receipts after 90 days; non-identifying daily totals after 365 days. Browser identifiers expire after 30 days. Withdrawal removes those identifiers, Google Analytics cookies and queued optional events; basic cookieless page counts continue. Payment at an external vendor is not a Materix conversion.
Earlier traffic records
The separate first-party page counter was retired on October 1, 2026. Existing page-view IDs and daily IP hashes retain their 48-hour expiry target, subject to scheduled cleanup and backlog; existing daily and page totals retain today and the previous 89 Shanghai dates. No new records are collected by that counter. Cloudflare also manages platform backups under its D1 retention rules.
Retention and deletion
Submission records are automatically deleted 180 days after receipt. A verified early-deletion request channel has not been published yet, so do not include information you cannot leave under this retention period. A reference confirms that a record was saved; it does not confirm publication.
Notifications and local copies
An optional server notification adapter can alert the editorial team after a record is saved. If it is unavailable or not configured, the request remains saved and the page says so. Copy details writes a plain-text summary to your device clipboard; it does not submit or deliver a request.
