Ludo.ai

Game-focusedSources checked 07 Sept 2026

Game-focused AI suite for sprites, 2D art, 3D models, audio, video, ideation, and market research.

Ludo covers the broadest asset mix in this directory, which is useful when one project needs sprites, 3D, audio, and video under a shared style.

Documentation review; generation quality and engine import have not been tested by Materix.

How to use the Ludo.ai sprite generator

Ludo.ai suits a prototype that needs several asset types in one workspace. For sprites, choose the workflow by the input you already have:

  1. Only a character brief: use New Sprite to establish a still image, then animate the chosen result.
  2. An approved character image: use Animate. Fix the facing direction in the input and describe one action, such as a walk or idle.
  3. A specific pose or movement: use Keyframe Animation for three controlled poses, or Transfer Motion for a motion reference.
  4. Several finished actions: use Animation Pack to compare their scale and ground alignment before downloading them together.

Our suggested first comparison is an idle, walk, and attack from the same approved image. Inspect the feet and silhouette between actions; these are the features that will expose a jump in scale when the game switches animations.

EXPORT DECISIONS

PNG sheets, JSON, and animation alignment

Choose the export by the next step in your pipeline
ExportUseful forCheck at handoff
PNG sheet + JSONSlicing one animation with its frame dataActual frame count, cell bounds, and animation timing
Individual framesPixel cleanup or repacking in an editorFrame order, transparent edges, and a stable canvas
Animation Pack ZIPMoving idle, walk, and attack into one projectCharacter size and foot position across every action
GIF or videoReviewing motion with collaboratorsKeep the source frames for the game import

The sprite-size setting describes the sprite inside a frame; whitespace can make the cell larger. The chosen frame count is a maximum, and trimming can change canvas sizes between animations. Read the delivered dimensions before configuring a fixed grid. For a cut-out sprite that must retain its input alignment, the documented True Size option keeps trimming off.

What about 3D assets and textures?

The 3D generator accepts generated or uploaded models for texturing. GLB is the documented handoff for the model with rigging and saved animations; other model exports include OBJ, PLY, STL, and OFF. For a material job, decide whether you need a textured mesh or separate tileable maps before choosing the tool.

PRICE & LIMITS

Budget for animation credits and clean exports

Indie lists $20/month with 250 credits; Pro lists $50/month with 1,000 credits. Annual billing is $180 for Indie or $420 for Pro, with the annual credit allocation provided upfront. Pro adds API and MCP access, and those requests always use credits.

The pricing table lists sprite animation at 4–16 credits per operation on both plans. As a planning example, three actions at that range consume 12–48 credits, before creating the starting image or retrying a result. This is a calculation from the listed rates; model and duration choices determine the actual charge.

Free-plan sprite-sheet downloads carry a watermark on every frame. Ludo says upgrading removes it from subsequent downloads of existing sprites, so a clean export does not require regenerating the animation.

CHOOSING BETWEEN TOOLS

Ludo.ai or PixelLab?

Start with Ludo when the same prototype needs sprites alongside 3D, audio, or concept work. Start with PixelLab AI when the main deliverable is a pixel-art character set and you want to plan around documented reference sizes and directional views.

If the character is already approved and animation is the only task, also compare AutoSprite. Use the sprite-sheet comparison guide to separate animation controls from download and metadata requirements.

COMMON QUESTIONS

About Ludo.ai

Can Ludo.ai animate a sprite I already have?

Yes. The Animate workflow accepts an uploaded image. Use a first frame facing the intended direction, then describe one action. Keyframe Animation adds control over a first, middle, and final pose; Transfer Motion uses a motion reference.

What does the Ludo.ai sprite generator export?

The documented options include PNG sprite sheets, individual frames, a sheet with JSON data, GIFs, and video. Animation Pack bundles several actions as sheets or frames in a ZIP, with controls for scale and alignment.

Are Ludo.ai sprite-sheet downloads watermarked?

Free-plan sprite-sheet downloads have a watermark on each frame. Ludo says a paid plan removes it from new downloads and from sprites already in your history, without regenerating them.

Does Ludo.ai Pro include unlimited sprite animation?

Sprite animation uses credits on both Indie and Pro. The pricing page lists 4–16 credits per Animate Sprite operation. The unlimited web-app allowance covers selected tasks such as image generation and ideation; API and MCP requests always consume credits.

Can I use Ludo.ai sprites in Godot or Unity?

You can import the exported images into these engines. Read the actual frame dimensions and count from the export, then set up slicing, timing, and pivots. Materix has reviewed the documentation; it has not tested generated output or a live engine import.

How much does Ludo.ai cost?

Indie is $20/month with 250 credits; Pro is $50/month with 1,000 credits. Annual billing is $180 for Indie or $420 for Pro, with annual credits provided upfront. Free-plan sprite-sheet downloads are watermarked.
