Trellis 3D
Browser-based AI image-to-3D and text-to-3D drafts with model-dependent inputs and an interactive viewer.
Reviewed from official pages, public generation code, model controls and a rendered sample. Suitable for evaluating an early prop workflow; new generation, downloaded files and engine import remain untested.
Try Trellis 3D on a small game task
Evaluate an initial prop shape for a game concept or prototype, then inspect and edit it before engine handoff.
- Choose an original or licensed reference image, or write a simple prop brief. Confirm cloud-upload permissions, the selected model's supported input and its current credit cost.
- Generate a small draft with an available model and inspect its silhouette and proportions in the viewer. This review did not run a new generation; the public Trellis 2 Lite branch currently ends with a capacity error.
- If an export is available for your account and model, inspect the saved file in a separate 3D editor. Repair the mesh, UVs and materials, prepare collisions and scale, then test a manual import into the target engine.
An accepted prototype prop should have suitable scale, readable shape, usable topology and materials, and render within the game's budget. Generation quality, saved exports, commercial-use rights and engine import still need an independent sample test.
An editorial starting point to validate in your own project.
Where Trellis 3D fits
Strong fit
- Exploring rough prop silhouettes from reference images you have permission to upload
- Trying text-based shape concepts with a model that supports text input
- Inspecting a draft in the browser before planning separate mesh cleanup and game import
Know before choosing
- This listing covers the independent trellis-3d.net service. Its use of the TRELLIS name does not establish Microsoft ownership, endorsement or the licensing of every available model.
- The public client currently sends Trellis 2 Lite through a timed capacity-error path without submitting a generation task. Other model branches call the generation API. Confirm the selected model's availability and credit cost; a working free generation was not verified.
- The public sample viewer renders a 3D model, but its GLB download opens a Google sign-in dialog. Advertised export formats can depend on the model. Generated files, textures, topology, rigging, collisions and performance were not independently tested.
- Game handoff requires separate inspection and editing. Native Unity, Unreal or Godot integration and successful engine imports were not established.
- Inputs are processed in the cloud with third-party AI providers. The public privacy policy does not establish a fixed deletion deadline or identify every model provider; check processing and retention terms before uploading unreleased assets.
- The service requires upload rights and leaves output compliance to the user. Check the selected model's terms and source-material rights before distribution. Subscriptions renew automatically; the pricing FAQ states no refunds except where required by law. Commercial rights, checkout and cancellation were not independently verified.
